Chris Hoehle is an artist and craftsperson based in Denver, Colorado working primarily with wooden forms created on the lathe. His work is inspired by the Fibonacci sequence as expressed through the relentless pursuit of elegant flowing curves and good proportions, and the playful use of color to make everything from functional wooden kitchenware to organic sculptures of cosmic creatures that have found their way through the ether to this world to materialize through his craftsmanship.
Chris gratefully acknowledges the support and influence of his friend and mentor, Jacques Vesery. In particular, Jacques’s teachings regarding the practice of the creation of multiples to “sketch” on the lathe in three dimensions and refine one’s sense of form and proportion have been invaluable to Chris in the development of his own body of work.
